Denali National Park and Preserve Guide - Camping & Lodging |
|
Denali National Park and Preserve has seven campsites and one lodge within the federally controlled section of the park. There are a number of state and private campgrounds, hotels and lodges located in the surrounding area.
All campgrounds listed are assumed to have improved pads (at least gravel), fire grates or grills, picnic tables, electric hookups, water, showers, and toilet facilities unless otherwise noted. OutdoorPlaces.Com strongly recommends calling facilities ahead of time and making proper reservations to assure a pleasant visit when in the area. |

Backcountry Camping |
Backcountry camping is permitted in most of Denali's 6.1 million acres. Permits are required and can be obtained on a walk-in basis no more than one day in advance. However, a camper bus or shuttle bus pass will probably be required to get to your camping destination. Be sure to reserve your bus seat as soon as possible. All backcountry campers are required to use bear canisters. There may be other restrictions depending on the time of the year. |
