Rocky Coastline By Thunder Hole - Acadia National Park
Sitting on the southeastern tip of Acadia National Park, Thunder Hole is a popular attraction. An underwater cave holds trapped air and under the right conditions the air is compressed by wave and tidal actions and explodes in a thunderous rush. During the main tourist season of summer and fall, Thunder Hole is quieter and burps, rumbles, and gurgles. It is during this quieter time you can explore the slippery rocks (at your own risk) and get a shot like this one.
